About Dorina:
Dorina Lazo Gilmore-Young is a speaker, podcaster, teacher, and mama of three girls, who grew up in a multiracial family. She loves to use words to open hearts to new cultures. Dorina is the author of Cora Cooks Pancit, an award-winning children’s book about a Filipino-American girl learning to cook a traditional recipe and learning about her family’s heritage. Her newest children’s book is Chasing God’s Glory with Kailani’s Gift coming in 2024 from Waterbrook/Multnomah/Penguin Random House.
Dorina has also published non-fiction, Bible studies, devotionals, and poetry. She writes for (in)courage and Proverbs 31 Ministries. Dorina and her family also created the Global Glory Chasers, a monthly membership experience in partnership with Brownicity, inviting families to “travel the globe from the comfort of home.” Dorina loves to speak in classrooms and educational settings for kids. She has a Masters of Fine Arts in Children’s Literature from Hollins University and has taught at the college level. Dorina is a remarried widow. She and her husband Shawn are raising three brave daughters in Central California. They love to travel, eat, and run together!
