Hello Love,
This is such a new season for me. I hired a Coach, took scary steps towards joining a networking group and started doing a ton of reels and some I have cringed over.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in entrepreneurship, you have to keep showing up and decide what that looks like for you.
Last month I scheduled our FIRST official family shoot and it was amazing, I’m definitely doing these once a year.
Franklin wants to do some for Christmas, we’ll see!
I want to tell you a secret that keeps me going even if I sometimes I fail and fall flat on my face. Web Design, Entrepreneurship is somewhat like my therapy. I need it. It took me sometime to figure this out but once I did, I accepted it and that’s when everything changed for me.
They say you have to focus on your why. I think, for me, and maybe for you too, you maybe have more than 1 why. I’ve experienced failure, I’ve had set backs and much of that fuels my passion to try my hand at being ridiculously good at what I consider is an “art” It’s design and I love it. Secondly…
I mean look at those cutie pies. One of my whys, is that I want to be able to tell my kids “Go for it”. What ever they want to do, or be in life I want to be able to support them in every way that I can, especially by saying “Go for it, I know what you’re going through you got this.”
Here’s the thing Love, you don’t have to start off great to be great. You don’t have to have that perfect reel or those perfect family pictures, although it helps 🙂 to keep you motivated. You just have to realize… your craft, talents and gifts, are they important as much as you want to breathe?
I remember putting in my ear pods, going for a run and listening to Eric Thomas. Have you heard the one about the guy who wants to be successful and the guru? At the time I didn’t really get the depth of what that guru was saying. Now I do. Breathing is a natural thing but when you’re under water what would you do to breath again? You will swim as fast, with all your might and heart to breath again. To LIVE.
For me, writing, designing & entrepreneurship. It’s like breathing, it’s a creative outlet. Find yours. Maybe it’s creating really amazing videos, maybe it’s blogging, maybe it’s designing. Find it, hold on to it and make it part of your lifestyle just like you breathe.
Here’s my checklist of 10 things you should do to become successful in entrepreneurship with your craft.
- Understand that failure is part of the journey. (If you get this, you’ll be unstoppable)
- You are equipped, it’s in your heart for a reason and I believe God placed it there for a reason
- You will hardly get any hearts, likes or comments, keep going anyways, the right people will reach out
- Hone and temper your craft. Get really good at what you do.
- You’re going to want to “give up” that’s not going to change, soften the blow by understanding it’s part of the process
- Listen to your gut. (WOW, this one here is so important)
- Dubsado, lol you get it
- Have a website that articulates exactly what you do and who you are for (book a chat with me if you need help in this area)
- Invest in yourself
- Read
What ever it is you love to do, find away in today’s society to express it. What you are great at and meant to do, it’s an art. Respect it and treat it as such. I hope this post was helpful along your journey.
