Hello Love,
Today we continue journeying on with Jacob.
Let’s fast forward to the time Jacob is confronting his greatest fear. The time where he has to face his brother Esau.
Jacob begins preparing for his brother, he also prays to God earnestly,
“Save me, I pray, from the hand of my brother Esau, for I am afraid he will come and attack me, and also the mothers with their children. But you have said, ‘I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.’” Genesis 32:11-12
Take note in Jacob’s prayer how he confides in God and reminds God of His promise to him.
What have been your affirmations?
Are you sharing your fears with God?
Have you been reminding, not only God, but yourself of the good things God is capable of doing in your life?
Then my favorite part in Jacob’s story…
So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”
But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”
The man asked him, “What is your name?”
“Jacob,” he answered.
Then the man said,
“Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.” Genesis 32:24-28
Going through a tough period Jacob was wise enough to be by himself. Many times you will find yourself in an unlikely or unwanted situation. Where you are confronted by your past mistakes and threatened by what it looks like. Do not be afraid to be alone in these situations because those moments are preparing you for the battle, where your breakthrough is waiting on the other side.
Take heart love, these moments of hardships are designed for you to wrestle through and come out an overcomer.
Not only did Jacob went to be by himself where he found himself wrestling with a man whom he knew had the capability to bless him.
He saw past the outside.
Jacob wrestled with God, and even though it was excruciating due to the pain in his hip, he did not give up, he continued because he knew there was a blessing available to him if he did not give up.
Where are you now in your life?
Does it seem impossible?
The pressure unbearable?
Whenever you confront these moments do not be weary of doing good. Keep up the good fight of faith.
Recognize God in these moments.

Write down your fears as a love letter to God, as you would write to a friend. Write along with it at least 5 of God’s promises that are located in your bible for example.
