Hello Love!

I think there’s something to be said for pieces we already have and just re-configuring it in such a way that really highlights not only the room but your furniture pieces.

Recently my mom went on a mini vacation to DR with my Dad. My younger sister Lina and I really wanted to surprise her. So we decided to do a mini makeover of her living room.

My mom really has awesome taste in furniture, most of the pieces you see have been around since my childhood and we have MOVED to soooo many places. I love that we really got to highlight a few of her pieces.

My sister Lina told me what she wanted & what she believed would be nice, since she IS her roommate. One of her wants was to really showcase that fire place.

Can you see the fire place? Exactly!

And the work began…

I really didn’t think to take before pics until after everything got ugly, but hey! At least I caught a few befores!

PRO TIP: Use Cardboard to move furniture on Carpet, saves time and energy!

I’m blessed that I have a very, very Vibrant and active imagination and I was able to place everything first in my mind, but because this is easy for me I quickly learned it’s not everyone’s forte. So I drew up some plans and my sis okay-ed it! It was like a scribble on a napkin.

ON WARD!

We basically moved those two pieces to the other side of the room.

My favorite part was finding this old book, Lina finding these stones and poof, magic happened. To be honest I wish for the Love of all that is amazing decor, I could capture this epic moment as it was in the moment…

We pivoted the T.V, to still allow visual access and I told my sister “Lina, you got some cleanin to do.” (In a Ricky voice. hehe j/k)

We did all this pretty much in one day, there was no budget and no money was spent. We found that fantastic map in my mom’s stash and I knew it would be excellent to place over the mantel. I mean have you seen Joanna Gaines projects? Not a fan?

I would of LOVED to have framed it but we ended up just using tacs, temporarily.

P.S. This room is not finished, we still have to style the bookshelves,add some more personality ^_^ and then some. Just wanted to show what just a little furniture rearranging can do!
