I’ve grown, I’ve changed so much and I am BEYOND thankful that I made it to this point of making this amazing hamper for an amazing mom.
There’s a few more items that still remains to be showcased and I just can’t wait till I get a picture of Everything in the room!!!
I used my Brother’s sewing machine for this project. (I have 3 sewing machines really, but who’s counting?) I LOVE it! It was very inexpensive considering other embroidery/quilting machines you find out there. It has so MANY choices including letters and it’s just awesome. I can even unplug the pedal and it can sew automatically!
I loved making this one of a kind Hamper. For me it came out AMAZING. I love how all the details just blend and go very well. It was my very first time making it! O_O I faced so much fear in the beginning as to if I would make a mistake and capturing the measurements and all, but still, It was so fun to make!
To you it’s just a hamper, but to me? Well it’s where I made a friend, where I saw what’s deep inside of me and what challenged me to see who I was and where I wanted to go.
I hope that what ever project you take on today, whether it’s running errands, going to your day/night job or following a passion, that you push pass the doubt and fear, that life sometimes throws at us and you get to see just how wonderful you truly are in every way and have the boldness to be you no matter what.
You Totally Rock Squirt!
(Finding Nemo is like one of the best movies of all time. I’m just sayin!)
P.S. I took the measurements from the original hamper and I took into consideration a seam allowance. I usually work with a 1/2 -1 inch seam allowance and sometimes a bit more, You can always cut away you can not always add more unless you sew it on and that’s a headache!
I used felt for the music notes and googled some awesome music templates to use as cutouts! I love working with a permanent marker when it comes to tracing out patterns it just glides soooo smoothly over ANY fabric unlike dressmakers pencils. If ANYONE knows of awesome easy-to-use-without-having-to-make-wrinkles-on-the-fabric-because-you-get-so-frustrated-that-the-markings-don’t-transfer-over pencils then Hollar at your girl. Seriously, leave a comment and if you have a link add it. Help a fellow crafter out! ♥
