3 Tips on How to prevent Burn-Out!

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:38

Hello Love,

So I’m going to be, real.

Brutally honest, transparently real.  Although, there’s a good chance that you may not understand, there’s also that sliver of a chance that it may be just what you need.

I’ve come out in such a different place that I have to share! To be honest… I get to Share!

So as you can see, I’ve calmed down a bit from blogging just about everyday to, just once a week. If you’ve searched around my website, and if you’ve been with me for a while, you can tell that I’ve come a long ways since I first started this particular blog/website. Exhibit A.

One of the reasons why I’d change my blog, like a gazillion times, and yes I’m sounding a bit like a kid but so what! GAZILLION! Is because, I’ve been trying to not only find my voice, or my craft but I’ve been on a creative search for my calling.

Exhibit B:

Can you relate?

In this search I allowed myself to make mistakes, to aggressively change things in the drop of a hat and just do me until I found my flow.

I knew, at the end of it all… 1. If I was going to have readers, I truly wanted authentic readers, that not only gain something but that are lead to read this here blog. I know that may sound a bit naive, but I honestly know from the core of my being that what GOD calls, He provides for.

I’m thankful that GOD knows just what we need! In this junction in my life God has allowed me to intentionally have a growth plan that I will share with you all soon!

Not only that but, 2. I really wanted to just find where I fit. To find Exactly what God has called me to do and not be afraid to… well figure it out. Does that make sense?

In order for me to do that, because I’ve lived before in the expensive of giving up my dream to please others visions for my life, I decided I wanted what God had for me and not this cookie cutter way of getting there.

We’re all individuals and one thing I’ve learned is that when you do things from the heart…you’ll get to the heart of the matter. As the hubby likes to say TWEET THAT! (Mind you, he doesn’t have twitter nor knows how to use it…yup.)

Honestly though, I went forth, with passion, tenacity and a bit of hardheaded stubbornness, where I didn’t care if I made a mistake here or there, because really, I really truly want what GOD has for me.

Though I’ve made mistakes through the process I’ve accepted with gratitude that…these are MY mistakes and MY lessons that I get to learn and I get to grow from.

I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t in a real hands on experience it makes it all the more AMAZING!!!!

All the more amazing to SHARE! ^_^ ♥.

Side note: I’ve built this page somewhat from scratch, but I use one of those fancy themes from Themeforest, they’re awesome.

So recently I overcame a great hurdle called…

Burn Out.

Have you ever caught yourself running on all cylinders only to find yourself, other than moving forward, just moving backwards?

That’s where I was. I felt like nobody understood where I was coming from.

Nobody was cheering me on. Hey sometimes it’s nice to get a little, ‘hey you’re doing great keep going’ besides the electronic fb feed.  (Baby sis had me all like…at one moment in my life. Good times.)

On top of, nobody really understanding me….besides baby sis, of course.

Those where my feelings and I understand that. You don’t have to get it, in fact you can judge me if you’d like, but maybe you’re also going through that moment or maybe you are IN that moment? Then this post is for you.

And although I know feelings are fickle and can lead you down an emotional roller coaster, which I was in one due to my immune system being down via Burn Out, I fell and I felt like I just couldn’t see clearly.

Have you ever been in a situation that your sight isn’t clear and all you see is fog?

I believe when we don’t prepare ourselves the right way or when we just keep chugging away at our coffee thinking it’s going to replenish and refuel us, well that’s when we start crashing down from the caffeine and stuff get’s real.

And mind you I crashed.

Hard LESSON EVER, for me to learn. You would think I’d get it by now.

I call it… Sturbbornacity. Stubborn + Tenacity.

How to prevent Burnout

3 LESSONS I’VE LEARNED FROM MOVING TOO FAST!

Lesson 1 DO NOT GO FULL STEAM AHEAD

Sure, it’s nice. You got inspiration brewing you can’t wait to get it out there, and you just gotta get that high of launching something, or starting/creating something new! After all, you want to get there first! In the words of Ricky Bobby “If you aint first you’re last!“. I get it, I can dig it. In fact, you can probably say I’m the queen or at least one of the queens at this, hey if you think you’ve one up me, you can be a queen at it or king too, I’m not hating.

So while I was just ohhh I can do this, ohh and I’m going to say yes to this, ooohhh and I’m going to do this! I painfully didn’t see past the moment.

PACE YOURSELF

It doesn’t mean you can’t launch that big awesome idea, it just means, finish what you already have on your plate with excellence, before doing so.

Lesson 2 SEE PAST THE FLUFF STUFF

Learn to see things for what they actually are, not what you want them to be. This is one I practice on with relationships. It’s helped me look at people for who they are, not what I want them to be and it’s even allowed me to fall in love with my hubby.

You see the real, it’s always the best. I didn’t realize that this can also benefit one into all areas of ones life! Such as creatively.

I can look at opportunities for what they are, or I can blindside myself and look at opportunities for what I want them to be.

You won’t get to super star status by saying yes to everything. Even superstars know how to say NO. Gracefully 🙂

Lesson 3 LEARN TO LET GO. LET GO OF THE FLUFF.

I know, we all know this one, but when you are a creative, this one can be a bit difficult. At the end of my burnout road, I had two choices.

Continue on, with this weight of burn out or let it go, re-asses what’s important to me and pivot myself by pressing into God.

Fortunately God cleared a window that I was able to see past the fluff and to see the real.

And Love, that’s where I’m at.

I had to cut out the Fluff in order to really concentrate on producing high-quality content, other than a lot of quantity which leads you down the Burnout road. And nobody likes a hot mess. 😛

Moral of the story: Learn to understand what is truly important, a bird can’t perch on a cloud no matter how beautiful it looks or solid it seems.

So yea, there you have it. The great thing is, even though we all make mistakes or put to much on our plates, it’s never to late to just press in to Christ and learn of Him.

But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7

How about you? Have you ever reached burn out? What has been your experience?
