Once again!
Another Reveal! This time it’s a DIY I took on for my own home. It’s incredible the opportunities God gives you once you are fully committed and renewing your mind.
The hubby and I now get to decorate our apartment and we’re thinking Long term. All that we purchase for our apartment we are also considering each item as an investment and towards our house in the future.
I for one dream of a white picket fence.
I decided that this coffee table needed some rejuvenation and a face lift. I am not to keen on the green granite top and thankfully It is going out! Outside that is. I’m planing on not only doing each room but our back porch as well! Stay tuned, it’s going to be marvelous.
What I used
- New Granite Top
- Sand paper
- coffee table
- White, black, gold spray paint
- leather gloves
- face mask
- News paper
- Extra Newspaper or plastic bags (to protect floor when painting)
- scissors (to cut out pattern)
- Ruler
- Pencil, Pen, Marker

Next I decided I wanted to do something playful and modern I knew the colors I wanted to use and how I want everything to carry out through out the living room. We picked out the perfect granite top and the rest was designed around that.
I decided to go with a Chevron pattern at the base of the coffee table. This coffee table antique was actually a freebie given to us.
I made a template for the chevron pattern and really it was just made on News Paper, paper and I measured out a zig-zag pattern.
I outlined the pattern with a permant marker. Permant marker is one of my favorite tools to use when marking patterns, if you have any other suggestions I’m open. For me, it’s better than pencil and pen.
I then went ahead and spray painted it Gold and brush painted the black with acrylic paint, because I knew that’s what I wanted for the base, and black would easily cover it. I love the way black and white looks. It’s clean and classic. The play with the Gold just fits with our color scheme for the space.
I let the paint dry and because I did a practice run on the pattern the first time I knew now exactly how far apart I wanted each chevron and I began to trace it out.
It all came together AMAZING! Loving our new Coffee Table 🙂
