Name: Amber Robinson
a.k.a.: AmBam
Age: 34
Age at heart: 10
Kids: 1 (London Alexandra Robinson) and a bun in the oven!
Current title/Company/Blog: Independent Health Consultant/TheCrunchyBunch.com
Year you launched your Blog: 2013
When did you decide to add a YouTube channel along with blogging and when will that be launching? Last Year & Launch Year: 2015 (This year!)
What has been people’s response? I have received positive feedback on both blogs but more so on my Family Blog (The Crunchy Bunch) as people can relate more to the family experience versus an individual one.
You’ve mentioned that you’re incredibly artsy with a love of photography, painting, and pottery! How do you find time to manage your personal and business life? I have yet to find that “perfect balance” which is why I am behind on a lot of deadlines. I try my best to take care of the more important things before working on the others.
What would you say is one thing you do that refreshes you? Taking a break and spending the entire day with my husband and daughter is my refresher. Whether we head to the beach, hiking trail, or simply head downtown to eat amazing Ethiopian food.
How did you meet your husband? How has growing a family impacted your relationship? I met my husband through a mutual friend on Twitter (Yes! A real live “Computer Love”)! Having a child has truly blessed our marriage, raising London is a joy and although it can be strenuous at times we are definitely going to have more.
How do you balance and muster up the courage to be so candid with your readers? Being straight-forward is how I have always been so I don’t know how to be anything else but candid.
What is a crunchy mom? A mother who supports home-births, breastfeeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering, co-sleeping, gentle discipline, etc. One who questions established medical authority; tends to be vegetarian and/or prepare all-organic foods. Somewhat of a new-age hippie.
What was your first ‘I’m a Grown Up’ experience? I have always felt this way when I started paying my own bills but the experience became surreal when I gave birth! At that moment it HIT ME like a ton of bricks.
Take us through your day. Everyday is different so I cannot give you a typical day. However, my day consists of praying, bathing, getting dressed, drinking fluids, eating, taking my herbs/vitamins, preparing dinner/making lunches, health consultations, blogging, homeschooling, and ends with hugs, kisses and good nights.
How was growing up as a preachers daughter? And what can you say you learned from growing up in that environment? My father didn’t become a preacher until I was 15 years young, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. There was more of a Godly influence in my home but I was raised up in the church so I always knew about the Lord and I believe knowing Him is the reason I am alive and well today.
What is one key piece you would share about health? RESEARCH EVERYTHING! So when you make a decision you can feel comfortable and at peace that you have made the right one.
Favorite recipe? Roasted Mushroom Ragu (Goes great with Garlic Mashed Potatoes) –

What has been a highlight? Making memories with my growing family
What has been a lowlight and how did you bounce back? Partnering with people who I was not equally yoked with spiritually. When I parted ways God started to bless my business and it is flourishing in ways that I couldn’t imagine.
What was the inspiration behind your blog design? My personal Health Experience and Family. The colors and format I chose had a lot to do with both.
What do you want readers to get from your blog and social media platforms? I want them to become more self sufficient and not rely on medical doctors and pharmaceutical companies to heal them. I want people to learn how to take control of their own health.
What lessons have you learned, through blogging, being a mom, work, while also pursuing your dreams and working on future platforms? Always list sources and your personal experiences, be patient, and always go to God before making all decisions and let Him lead your footsteps.
What do you tell yourself that keeps you motivated? Thinking of how many people that will benefit from my efforts is what keeps me going.
Favorite Lipstick color? I don’t wear lipstick.
Coffee or Tea? I love Ginger, Echinacea, and Chai Tea
Can you share your testimony?
On April 8, 2010, my life changed forever…
Hit head on by a Suburban which was 3 times the size of my Honda Civic, the SUV ran a red light as I was making a left on a green arrow. My car spun out of control and as I was spinning uncontrollably my head hit the steering wheel and I blacked out, I don’t know for how long but when I awoke my car hood was on fire and the engine was smoking and no one would come near me to help because my car was rapidly leaking fluids and they didn’t know if the car was going to explode or not but… by the GRACE OF GOD I made it out alive!
When death knocks at your door even when you invited it you may quickly have a change of heart and decide you want to live!
When God blesses you with a second chance you learn to take life more seriously and make the best of every moment.
If it wasn’t for this accident I wouldn’t be who I am today! God has a way of humbling you and drawing you closer to him when your life is spiraling out of control. I should have been dead, even the police were amazed that I walked away with only a head contusion, swollen ankle, and a few bruises. I still have back pains here and there on my left side where I was hit the hardest but it is only a reminder of how blessed I am to be alive! From that day forward I promised myself that I would not take His mercy for granted any longer. I made a decision to start living my life for Him and Him only.
I detached myself from bad influences, anything or anyone who would pull me away from His presence in order to focus solely on Him. That was the best decision I ever made in my life!
I won’t say that it was a breeze from that point on but the journey was worth while as I am still walking in His will for my life and holding on to Him and His promises as I belong to Him forever.
God is good and merciful! God is faithful and He loves you even when you don’t love or respect yourself. Invite Him into your heart today, He heals deep wounds, and can turn your mess into a blessing, and He can make you see the silver lining in any situation no matter how cloudy it may seem. Keep your focus on Him and Him only. Drown out the negative in this world and when you feel like you are drowning and you can’t hear His voice… Shut out the world and bury yourself in His Word and hold tight to His promises.
With Love,
Amber Robinson
