Hello Love,
Today we continue on with Joseph.
After Joseph was tempted by Potipher’s wife, she lied and accused Joseph of making advances on her. He was then sent to prison.
But not just any prison, he was taken to the prison where the king’s prisoners were confined. And even though it may have looked like even then that God may have abandoned Joseph, God was with him and had even given him favor in prison.
“So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.” Genesis 39:22-23
There is a purpose for where you’re at, no matter what it looks like. God always has a plan.
Are you aware of God’s hand over your life?
Over your situation and the favor that is around you?
Then Pharaoh had placed two officials a chief cupbearer and the chief baker who was placed in the prison where Joseph was confined.
When Joseph noticed them, they looked sad and he asked them why they were so. Both had mentioned how they had a dream but there was no one to interpret their dream.
This was an opportunity, whether Joseph knew it or not, and because he was obedient with the gifts and talents he had, he offered to help them and interpreted their dreams.
He took the opportunity to ASK the cup-bearer to show him kindness and to remember him in the presence of Pharoah.
“But when all goes well with you, remember me and show me kindness; mention me to Pharaoh and get me out of this prison.” Genesis 40:14
Joseph didn’t get his answer right away, but yet despite what the circumstances looked like he was faithful and one day he was remembered by the cup-bearer who was reinstated and told the Pharaoh what was done for him. Referrals are the bees knees!
The task may have seemed small, but do you know God rewards obedience?
Later Joseph was brought in front of Pharaoh and was then placed in second in command of all of Egypt. God can bless you despite your past.
Don’t let your past be an excuse to not pursue your calling!
